It isn’t often that we as innkeepers get handwritten notes from guests. It seems that it is a lost or dying art. I have to admit that I am one who has gotten into the electronic age for running my business. I send electronic confirmations and thank you notes. I also send e cards for birthdays and special occasions. I even design my own cards online and print them to hand deliver. The Stoughton Fair is just around the corner. Lots of Youth Exhibits, a Big Midway, Great Food and Family Entertainment. If you want to have a great old fashion good time get over to Stoughton June 30th – July 4th for the Fair. Friday Fish Fry, Saturday Chicken Dinner. Donkey Racing, Pig wrestling, A Demo Derby. The Flower Factory Nursery , just outside of Stoughton WI is open and waiting for your arrival. The weather may be a little screwed up with 80′s a few weeks ago and freeze warning for tonight, but The Flower Factory Nursery is open and selling the Midwest’s largest selection of perennials, hostas, and ornamental grasses.
Syttende Mai is coming to Stoughton WI May 14th – 16, 2010. It’s a weekend to celebrate our Norwegian heritage and Norways Independance Day. The city will be full of things to do, see, and eat. Come and watch the World Famour Stoughton High School Norwegian Dancers, veiw quilts and Hardanger, sample Norwegain Meatballs, Fried Cheese Curds and Cream Puffs. With all the great weather that Madison has been having it was inevitable that it would move south to Stoughton. Well it did, and it hit us hard. 83 degrees on April 1. No Foolin’. Today it is just as nice. We could use a little rain though. Only had about 3/4 inch last month. But we don’t want as much as some of my friends in Rhode Island had.
This is just a reminder that the Big Bead Show is this weekend at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. The show is open 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 Sunday. Diakonos Designs will be right next to Midnight Moon in the first row on the right as you enter the show. As usual there’ll be tons of great beads and findings throughout the show for all your upcoming beading projects.
At the Diakonos booth they will be featuring new clay bead designs along with new resin-filled bezel mini-masterpieces highlighting original art by Kathryn Vaughn. They also have an array of new beads from Jon Sutcliffe, who was recently featured in BeadStyle magazine and some value-priced original sterling silver pendants from Mona Semerau.
