Have a Merry Christmas
Well Christmas is here and another holiday season is drawing to a close. I hope that you enjoyed it. I know that you missed some good times here in Stoughton during December. The biggest was Victorian Holiday. It’s always the first weekend in December, so look for it next year. You can check out this years schedule at victorianholidayweekend.com.
The norwegian horses taking you on a ride around downtown
The Stoughton chamber singers performing at the Victorian Ball
The New Event The Bed Races. This is the first year that we held this race and already have entries for next year. The racers had a good time but I think that the spectators (hecklers) had even more fun.
The rest of the month there were singers and musicians and sales all up and down main street and choral concerts at different venues. I’m looking for it to be busy at the Naeset-Roe Inn next year so book your room early.
Well I think that is about it for right now. I have enjoyed hosting those who have been here this last year and look forward to meeting you at Naeset-Roe Inn in 2009. Happy New Year.
There is still time to come to Stoughton WI and enjoy Victorian Holiday Weekend. Everything is decked out for the holidays and stores have a lot of activities to participate in. The 14 South Artists Show is going on and you can pick up a lot of fine art for holiday giving. Also over 80 crafters at exhibiting at the Arts and Craft Fair. So things are going on today until 6 and then tomorrow Sunday December 7th from 10 to 4. Don’t miss all of fun of Victorian Holiday Weekend in Stoughton, WI. (more…)

The weekend will kick off with a tree lighting ceremony featuring the Stoughton High School Madrigal Singers. There will be carriage rides and later that night be whisked away to a magical ball, the Grand Victorian Holiday Ball! Held at the Stoughton Center for the Preforming Arts, there are plenty of nice places nearby to have a glass of wine or enjoy some light piano music after the party.
On Saturday, many townsfolk and vendors will be in Victorian costume. Enjoy window shopping by using our complimentary trolley car to get around town.
The long-standing traditional event is the silent Fire Truck Parade, where local fire departments vie for first place in a decoration competition. Cast your vote for your favorite truck while enjoying hot cider and refreshments.
And make sure not to miss our annual production of the Nutcracker! No holiday season would be complete without this wonderful performance!
On Sunday join us for a new event – the Bed Race! Businesses and families will be pushing and pulling beds on wheels while in their nightclothes! It is bound to be hilarious fun for everyone!
We look forward to seeing you around town and hopefully at the Inn, where we will be sharing holiday cheer by the handful! Make sure to check the Victorian Holiday Weekend web site for a full listing of events and activities.
