Wisconsin Wins Wine Show
Wollersheim Winery of Prairie du Sac won Winery of the Year at the San Diego International Wine Competition. The winery is celebrating 40 years in operation. It’s not the first time that they have won this award. Loved the quote from Robert Whitley, director of the competion and a syndicated wine columnist “Then there was the “man bites dog” narrative in which the Napa Valley thunder was stolen by a winery from Prairie du Sac, Wis. Strange but true. Wisconsin’s Wollersheim Winery placed six wines, including two from its second label, Cedar Creek, in the championship round. Two of those wines, the Wollersheim White Riesling, $9, and the 2010 Prairie Fume, $10, took best of class riesling and seyval, respectively.”
Who says that wines have to cost a fortune and come from California or France. You can get some award wining wines right here is Wisconsin. The winery has a great tour and Philippe and Julie do a wonderful job with attention to detail in their wine making.
Come and take a tour soon and enjoy an award winning bottle of wine from Wisconsin.
